Who knew windows could be so yukky !!!

Who knew windows could be so yukky !!!, its a royal pain to develop for. Anyhow a couple more months of work and then back to kmotion 3, getting some ideas from a new generation of DVR PC interfaces I am seeing at work, kmotion 2 is looking real dated now, kmotion 3 will look a lot different.

  2. Well I am a way off yet but more recient units have just video on their display, OK some aspect ratio issues, sometimes images are stretched sideways but 99% of the time you do not need the controlls, you just want to look, I am planning a pop out menu on the RHS that shrinks to say 2px when not in use,

And while on the subject of that menu, camera names in a list rather than camera numbers, a mode button to flick between modes instead of images of what each mode looks like.

This will also negate the need for a color theme, 99% of the time it is invisible so 1 x modern dark theme for the menus / config would work.

This also frees up for a larger config and archive area, something that kmotion3 needs.

The other area is archive, I am going to re-visit it, possibly allowing 4 x cams to be viewed at once all synced together, also possibly a thumbnail view of all motion trips for any given camera.

Anyhow just ideas floating around, any ideas or suggestions, now is a good time before I start to code.

    Cheers

    Dave

  4. Hi Anonymous, wow, some very nice graphics and pretty near what I was thinking. I will be scrapping camera number buttons, instead there will be a list of actual camera names, the multi view camera select, unsure weather to have images of the layouts or just a cycle layout button and found a really nice PTZ feature today, would like to implement it, if a camera has PTZ superimposed, semi - transparent arrows <^> ... on the camera image, just click the screen borders to move the image, very nice and intuitive plus looks sleeker than having a PTZ control.

Love the theme and the kmotion3 logo, soooo much better than my attempts so far LOL.

  5. Hi Dave, I'm glad that you liked my work, I have some ideas about the project, how we can work together and what you need and in what format and where can I send - in your email?

  6. Yes email me direct, no problem, the only issue is that I am deep in code for a project at work and am going to be working on it for a while, maybe 2 - 3 months more, its a bigger project than I originally thought so I wont be able to continue coding for kmotion 3 until that completes. I do really like you work, I have also been looking at using jquery in the next version, looks like I can do some nice fades and a few effects.
